A thing that really rankles is the way some high-brow naysayers dismiss the new channels of communication - Facebook, Twitter, Blogs - as though they were somehow incapable of conveying the full depth of a literary experience. Now you can nip such balductum in the bud by referring your snob to Jane Austen, surely one of the great English writers.
